The Archbishop - continued!

Mommy says for Daddy to write down that Daddy is doing this last part of the blog.  So this is Daddy writing the remaining captions...

The O.G. Michelin Master E.Z. isn't diggin' it.

 "No, you're the man!"

"Mommy!  Get control of your pets, that's my bed!"

The Archbishop of Bathtime

New photos from the last week! There are actually three more that I want to add, but for some reason the computer won't let me upload them yet - so I think I'll have to finish this post, then start a new one with the other photos....

So let's see - not a lot has happened this week. We're doing some home improvement projects, so we've been spending a fair amount of time at Home Depot. I think Edison really likes it there because he gets to ride around in his Baby Bjorn in the air conditioning. We should take some photos of the bathrooms when we're (well, Damon really) done with the upgrades.

Speaking of air conditioning, we finally got the last two units installed upstairs - and the one in our bedroom is already non-functional. Of course. So, still no air conditioning in the bedrooms. Maybe by the end of the week.

Ok, on to the photos!

Damon certainly does interesting things with Edison while I'm at work. Edison does like his standing/leaning time though - and Damon promises he is always closely supervised :)

I'm not sure if this is a thinking look, or a sad look.

Learning some new animals

We got this giant bone for Zeke at Cost-U-Less in the bargain area. Awesome.
Even though he's afraid to chew on it (yet).

Bath time, bath time!

Checking out Azhan with daddy

Having a little chat about how strange Azhan is

Ok - so I'm going to try and get the other photos to load now!

2 month mile mark!

Today Edison turns 2 months old, and to celebrate he got to experience his first set of shots! Not actually an exciting experience for anyone, but we have some photos to document it. Just FYI, Damon did the photos and descriptions - hence the references to me in the third person (although I'm adding a few extra comments - in blue).

Damon also got to celebrate his first Father's Day. We tried to let him sleep in - I think he made it to almost 9am before we needed some assistance. But Edison is always so excited when daddy wakes up, I don't think Damon minds the disturbance :) I think Damon has also taken to the father role quite well. He is making up lots of little games for them to play while I'm at work, and takes plenty of pictures to keep me updated on their days. The other day Damon asked me if I also get little palpitations just looking at Edison. It was very sweet. We both definitely love just watching him, he's such a precious little munchkin!

Anyways, on to the recent photos...

First time touching sand and being told not to eat it.

First time touching the ocean and being told it's ok to pee in it.

(I accidentally put his diaper in too. I like how Zeke is supervising the activity.)

Everyone look at mom and see how cute she is too.

(what you can't see is Edison next to the journal cover on neonatal resuscitation)

 Enjoying the bouncy chair.

In order to go back to the U.S. , Edison has to have his own passport since we're flying through Japan.   We had to take his photo for it, which produced a lot of out-takes, as you can see below. We wanted to choose one of the more humorous ones for the actual passport, but opted for a 'just cute' one.  I like knowing Edison will be using this picture for traveling until he's 5.

A fine mugshot, but not for the passport.

 This one will suffice.

Damon has decided to expand his movie making to involve special effects. This means Edison and I have to perform in front of a green screen. The green thing on Edison's head is my green 'glove' for holding him. Let me just say it is very difficult to hold a squirmy 2 month old without the use of fingers.

Mommy and our little star helping to make movie magic with a green screen.

Then on to the 2 month check-up today. Current stats:   Weight 15 lbs 11.7oz   (>95th%, (off the charts)),  Length 24 1/2 inches (90-95th%),  Head circumference  16.5 in (90th%). So all in all pretty proportional. He wasn't very happy to be back in the pediatric wing of my clinic - since he cried almost the entire time. So much for me having a baby who's not afraid of doctors :)

After the shots Edison has been less than happy today. Damon and I are trying to console him with sing-alongs of You Are My Sunshine. It's somewhat effective.

Mommy always enjoys being peed on.

(his diaper was off when I got peed on)

No one is happy after the shots.

 Sleeping off the effects

You can see one of the healthy shot bruises there on his leg.

Edison just wanting to be held after receiving his shots.

That's all for now, maybe we'll have another movie soon.

A new video - Edison's first 7 weeks

So this is basically just a cute little video of Edison. Nothing too exciting, but I like watching it. I like seeing how much he has changed already!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WA6HuZedfqM

Enjoying time on the bouncy ball - one of his favorite activities

I think dad is enjoying this more than Edison ;)

Waiting for me to be done at work

Getting to meet the clinic administrators - I think he looks scared after listening to me complain for the last 9 months

Excited? Yawning? Surprised?

That's all I have for now. We just bought our plane tickets for a trip back to the midwest so Edison can meet his grandfathers, aunts, uncles, etc. We'll be there 8/29 - 9/9 - flying in and out of Chicago. Hopefully we'll get to see as many people as possible - I know I'm excited about getting there (but maybe not the flight itself...)
