All kinds of fun in the last week - and another late posting to the blog. We're looking even more forward to the fun we'll have on our big visit to the Midwest next week! I can't believe it's already time. And there's a lot to do beforehand. Still, there is time for the blog :)
So, to explain some of the photos - it is clearly rainy season on Guam, as evidenced by Edison's multiple mosquito bites. Or maybe flea bites. Who knows in this house. I think the flea population has been significantly reduced by Zeke's new medicine though, so maybe the bite issue will eventually go away.
Last weekend we went on our first semi-real hike with Edison. I say semi-real because it wasn't a very long distance, but it took quite a while to navigate the trail with a baby hanging off my front. And while trying to shield him from the sun the whole time. If only I could put sun block on the little guy...only two more months...Edison did a great job with the hike though. He looked around and didn't really complain until the end when he was hungry. So hopefully that bodes well for future expeditions.
The last three photos below are from Wednesday when the sun was directly over Guam. I learned from the UOG star lady on NPR this week about this event. It only occurs in the tropics that the sun is directly overhead twice a year. At that time, there are no shadows from solid objects, perpendicular to the ground. As you can see, we're not exactly perpendicular, but we were trying to show some lack of shadows. At least Damon captured the sun being directly over the patio table.
Ok, Damon is accusing me of writing a novel, so I'll stop. He also made a new video of some more short Edison clips.
They're not Chicken Pox, just bug bites.
Looking down at Marcia and Fe (something to get used to).
"I just rolled on to my tummy!"
"Is there something on my head?"
Azhan decides to make amends.
Doug leading the hike and gang to the waterfalls.
Finally, cool, fresh water to cool off...so refreshing! Although, no waterfall...
Earth Day Baby
Is caught wasting more paper than any other baby.
"I found my feet, and they're delicious!"
Another cute Jumpa shot.
Not too many shadows down there!
12:25pm sharp...the sun should be directly overhead...
It is.
