So, you know when you have just typed a long e-mail to someone, and then it disappears without notice? Well, that just happened to me with this blog post. I had written several paragraphs, but when we published the blog, it had all disappeared. That. Is. Annoying. But - I will try again...although I cannot remember what I wrote 12 hours ago...
Plus there are a ton of photos to get to, so I need to try to keep this brief!
The fall was eventful, to say the least. The best event being the addition of Adlai to our family! Although there was a bit of an adjustment to be had with his arrival, we're starting to settle into a more comfortable routine. Edison has done great with his new brother - he's very sweet and loving to him. He even has his own name for him - "Ad-a-way the weirdo". Adlai seems entertained by Edison too - particularly when he's wearing red clothes.
We've also noticed that Edison has become more sociable since his brother came on the scene. While he would never so much as say hello to other adults he knows, he is now telling them about his adventures with firetrucks and construction sites. So if you see Edison, you're much more likely to hear him speak (quite possibly even in his serious firefighter voice) than you were in September. No guarantees though - he may very well still just stare at you while you ask him things like, "how are you?", "what is your name?", "how old are you?", or "what is your brother's name?".
Edison is also very aware of Christmas being just around the corner. This year, instead of clinging to me while he visited Santa, he went with a mission. To declare his wishlist of Playmobiles and Legos. He told Santa he wanted "a firetruck, an ambulance, a police car, and a helicopter". And he has stuck with those items for the last two months, so I assume he probably really does want them. He frequently asks me what Santa is saying about him, hoping to hear good news about his prospects for receiving said gifts. He will also occasionally inquire about Santa's feelings towards Adlai - I can only assume with hopes that Adlai will also get lots of toys (to share).
Anyways, I've written too much and you still have 50 photos to get through (I don't really know how many there are...but a lot). Hopefully everyone is having a nice holiday season thus far. We'll attempt to get to a holiday posting before February!

Are these pictures getting old? I'm running out of things to say.
