Reacclimatizing back to Guam after Palau

I don't think the acclimation has been too difficult since we returned from out little island hop...Edison and Damon get to spend most days at the Hyatt pool, or going to the indoor playground at the mall. Sometimes they stay home, but it's pretty rare these days. We still haven't been able to use Edison's inflatable pool since it arrived without a drain cap...but hopefully that piece will get here soon!

Last night we went to my company gala. Edison went along of course...we have yet to get a babysitter, and anyone we would trust to watch him was at the gala. So he dressed up in his tuxedo bib and went along. The pictures we took at the photo booth will appear on the next post...

I would like to say that I'm pretty sure I was the first person to be breastfeeding in front of the CEO/president at the company gala. Awesome.

Edison's Hijab.

I think Edison just devoured a book or two.

Ritidian Beach = an amazing beach to be at

A cool, shady, panorama.

Edison poops a coconut...

and then plays with it.

A different part of the beach.

This part of the beach is actually just as nice as the other part.

Edison remembering to lift with his legs when picking up large pieces of coral.

The panorama function on this camera is really fun to use!

Edison and mommy and some ocean.

No, nobody rubbed a balloon on his head or stuck his toes in an outlet...

This is just what happens to his hair when he drinks through a straw.

Woah, his bottom teeth almost fits perfectly between that upper gap...like a beaver!

Who doesn't like waterfalls and daddies?

Even fake waterfalls at the pool deserve some clapping every once in a while.

Edison's Palau Trip

For Damon's birthday, Edison and I wanted to surprise him with a little trip to the nearby island of Palau...and so after a bit of planning, we went on our way last Thursday. Fortunately we kept daddy from finding out until Thursday afternoon, when Continental conveniently sent him an e-mail about his trip that night (thanks, Continental). Regardless, it was still a surprise and a lot of fun.

Edison had a great time playing in the pool, the sand, the ocean, and even spent a whole day on a boat while we took turns snorkeling around the Rock Islands of Palau. If you ever have the opportunity to visit, we highly recommend it - what a totally beautiful place!

At the end of the post, there is one more little video - not from Palau, but from more video we took in December that didn't make it into the last 2 videos.

"Hey, comfy airport chairs!"

Why did the baby cross the bridge?

"Yep, this water feels wet."

"I think...I think this pool is ready to be peed in."

Edison's first time in a hammock.

"I'm falling, I'm not falling, I'm gonna fall, I'm not gonna fall, what's going on here?"

Edison and daddy on a nature walk.

Same photo, different pool.

Edison doesn't appear to be one of the few people to not like ice-cream.

"And for my next trick, I will make daddy wake up."

"by tickling his toes."

Edison mighty close to chickens.

Edison mighty close to a sea turtle.

A stingray mighty close to Edison.

Serenity Now.

Photoshop can kiss Palau's booty (and Edison's).

Jellyfish Lake, just below Edison.

Giant Clams below Edison.

Edison is unintentionally rocked to sleep.

Eerie poses with an eerie background
(would have been cooler if this was Lake Erie).

More boat-rocking means more nappy time.

Edison tastes a Palauan apple.

Edison likes the Palauan apple.

Edison loves the Palauan apple.

Nice water to swim in.

Nicer water to swim in.

Mommy jolts Edison out of the water just before the shrieking eels get him.

Just another crappy day.

December Times

We got a little behind on photos from the last few months - there's just too much to do during the holidays! So here's a look at some of the photos from the last 2 months that didn't make it on to previous blogs.

Photos from Palau coming soon!

"I am Wall Street!"

Edison's 1st Cave

Edison enjoys swimming, even during typhoons.

That's tasty.  Even Ema looks hungry now.

Edison's 1st tunnel.

Edison gets a craving for limestone.

Edison can stand even with a mouthful of sand.

Edison attempting to breathe through the glass table.

Edison tries an orange for the first time.

"Excuse me sir, but I would like some privacy during my first buffet."

Christmas Brunch Buffet at the Marriott.

Apparently, mommy has a rule against Edison slurping back raw oysters at this age.

"Buffets are so AWESOME!"

Edison shares his water with Zeke.

Edison loves da hose.

It's like his own little water park.

 Another hard day at home.

Edison likes to read while standing.

A glimpse of what Edison may look like to a liquor store owner
late at night if he doesn't end up going to college.
