Winter Times

Well, we're in the midst of winter, and Edison seems to be faring just fine away from the beaches and pools of Guam. We've been getting a fair bit of snow, as you can see in the photos. Although Edison isn't totally fond of playing in the snow, he does like to eat it, and his construction equipment does a lot of snow moving.

We had a great Christmas, followed by a birthday trip for Damon to an indoor waterpark just a little north of here. Edison enjoyed getting back in the water, even though he was too little to ride the slides (unlike Guam, where there were no rules).

Edison's command of the English language continues to improve. It's amazing how quickly they learn words at this age. At some point he heard one of us saying "Jesus". Now he uses it often...for example:
The other day we took Zeke to the vet, and Zeke was insisting on coming out of the exam room into the waiting room. Edison was waiting in the waiting area and saw how naughty Zeke was being, so he starts shouting "Jesus, Zeke! Zeke! Jesus, Zeke!"
This morning, Isis was standing by his head in his bed and sneezed on Edison's face, and Edison says, "Jesus!"

We're trying to be very, very careful about what we say in front of him....

In toilet training news, Edison's doing really well. As long as he doesn't have anything on the bottom, he consistently uses the toilet. He's very independent - he just lifts up the toilet lid, climbs on the potty, and does whatever he needs to do. So he spends most days running around with only a shirt on. If he has a diaper on, he has a harder time remembering to tell us he needs to go to the potty, and often just pees in his diaper. But I think he's close to figuring it all out.

EZ also finally stopped nursing. Need I say more? We're going on 3 weeks now....

Well, that's all I can think of for now. Hope everyone is enjoying their winters!

"Pleeeeease give me a motorcycle!"

"X-mas, I can get used to this."

"Oh, books about airplanes, please read to me!"

Edison, having just tasted fresh snow, decides it's better than uncle Clint.

Everyone's comfortable when they're unconscious.

"Hmm, it doesn't look like Guam...it doesn't feel like Guam...what are you guys trying to pull?"

"So it's not Guam, that's OK, I'm still having fun, just as long as there's water involved."

If he was 15 years older, he'd be getting ALL the girls.

A rare picture of daddy holding Edison with his eyes closed next to a wooden fence.

It's best not to be food when around Edison.

Only 1 cent for a ride?  Here's a buck, now maybe Mommy and I can get some shopping done.

Edison always requires his monkeys to participate with his potty time by cheering him on.

The Big Monkey participates in a lot of Edison's activities.

One of Edison's favorite artistic activities is to stack things.

This one he calls "See".

He calls this one "See" too.

It's a tight fit with all three of them in there.

Edison honey, would you mind taking out the pizza?  Thanks.

"No daddy, you wanna use the 3/16's socket wrench, not the 5/32!  Hey, are these my vice-grips?"

Edison get's snuggly with the cats by the heater.

"Umm, Why can't we play inside where it's 50 degrees warmer?"

"Where's my snowmobile?"

"All gone"

It's almost too cold to sled...almost.

Zeke!  Stop it!

"It kind of looks like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man blew up here."
