Well, we're clearly not staying on top of the blog. I can't even remember the last post! But alas, here it is, full of pictures from the last month or two. Unfortunately we weren't very good about taking photos during (any) of the Thanksgiving dinners...but we did get Edison's first voting day, his first time at the circus, a visit with Santa, and his first snowfall!! I was especially excited that I got to be there for the first snow experience, and he's been asking for snow so he can wear his boots again ever since.

Edison's picking up words really quickly now, and showing many signs of independence....fortunately he likes being given choices, so that tactic is working well so far. He's been able to play with other little boys recently as well, which is generally a pretty hilarious time for everyone. He is also obsessed with construction equipment - I can honestly say that I never thought I would be able to differentiate between a skid steer loader and a front end loader...until now.

He's still working on sleeping through the night, but we've had a handful of solid nights of sleep in the last couple of months, so I'm hopeful. Maybe all we need is more days of playing in the snow with friends!

We hope everyone is doing great and enjoying the holidays - we are certainly happy to be spending time with family and making new friends! Here's to an Awesome 2012 and an even Happier 2013!

Edison looking GQ.

Edison standing behind Obama and Biden.

Edison hits puberty early.

"Oh, why didn't mommies evolve to have boobies closer together?"

Elton John in public.

EZ plays with giant dino-poopies.

EZ enjoying his first time at the circus.

(really enjoying it)

The Lincoln Park Zoo Lights

Staying warm under the zoo lights.

That is the widest smile ever photographed.

"Here mommy, you can never have enough cardboard."

A better sleepy spot than the car-seat.

Bulldozer!

"Why is the beach rising?"

EZ helping daddy run electrical wire.

The Pacifier Thugs (looking suspicious).

What is this?  Marshmallow fluff?

!

 It's not marshmallow.

Taking it up a notch.

Oh, he can get used to this.

Into the property.

The son is out.

"Hold on tight, or he's gonna getcha."

I think the photos pretty much describe how Edison's faring with the cold weather...just as well as he did with the hot! Since there are so many photos, I won't go on and on. Edison did just have his 18month well child visit, had his first day alone with Ema (followed by his first weekend alone with me while Damon went to a wedding), keeps adding words to his vocabulary, and is getting better and better at imitating what Damon and I do...as you will see below :)  Overall we're still having a great time in Michigan, and eagerly awaiting Edison's first snowfall!

Edison meets an owl...; hoo.

Edison has a thing for kissing public art.

If you call this a turtle, then you're not allowed to baby-sit Edison.
Trevor is allowed to baby-sit.

Uhh, are we having fun or do we need a diaper change?

"High five Ema, this car rocks!"

"Just sitting in Zeke's hole with my Tinkerbell sunnies on."

Having a drink with Elton John.

Edison's first time wearing a hat and gloves because it's actually cold outside.

Ema and Edison on the Tree Top Overlook at Sarett Nature Center.

This slide just got a whole lot scarier.

Ooh, Elton is back!

Edison's first time being really cold.

At first I thought Zeke was eating Mommy's arm, but then I realized, no, he's actually
trying to save her and Edison from the Tremor that's got her knees.

Thankfully, Edison survived the Tremor attack.

Oh wait, it's got him too!

Daddy finds a good sand dune spot and bait.

Any Tremors here Edison?

"Nope, WEEeeeeeee!"

"What's hangin?"

What???  Edison's first haircut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's going to take some time to get used to this (the haircut).

Why is he posing so cutely?

Edison falls asleep at the wheel...again.

"This is serious, it's an olive."

One of our new walks just next door.

Grandpa Marshall didn't explain that it wasn't a real horse.

Oh wait, this might be cute too...

Uhh, mommy, did you teach him how to do this?  No?
He just does what you do?

Mommy, where are you?  Is it OK that he's using your eye-lid stuff?
Hmm, not bad Edison, I'm fine with it if you are.

Not sure how he'll respond to leaf piles next year after this one.

Apparently, Edison has observed one (or both) of his
parents putting mommy's underwear and bras around their head.

Mmmmm, water melon dripping all over the carpet...yummmmmy.

Edison's beach.

Edison's feet.

Edison's feet in the beach.

Wow, a family shot!  Not many of these around.

Edison's Halloween costume...Ooooooo scary!

(Scarier than Winnie the Pooh at least).

There's an Edison of menicin' on a boarton with a Horton!

"Can we keep it?"

Edison's first hay-bale ride.

?

Edison is born again!

Edison's first Ferris Wheel ride...he seems dubious.

Firetruck.

Pumpkins.

Radio Flyer.
