So the summer's winding down and it's time for another blog post! We've spent a lot of time at the beaches, playing in the water fountain, and going to playgrounds. We've also made a number of trips to Indiana, went to the State Fair there, visited a water park, Edison started sleeping in his own brand-new bunk bed, and started gymnastics classes. Edison seems to be having a mostly great time, although the terrible two moments are becoming more frequent....and the arrival of his sibling is approaching!
Edison is most entertaining with his commentary on life in general - even though he refuses to speak to anyone except people he is related to. He is very interested in bodily functions, and Damon also contributes to the fun...for ex:
Mommy: "Great, I have a whole week of being on call to look forward to."
Daddy: "You're so lucky"
Edison: "You're so lucky."
Daddy: "You like that encouragement?"
Edison: "You like that encouragement?"
Daddy: "I'm an idiot."
Edison:"Daddy's an idiot."
Mommy (waking up in the hotel): "One of you was having terrible farts all night"
Edison: "No mommy, YOU were farting all night!"
Mommy: "You're a little fart monster today aren't you!?"
Edison: "That's YOUR fault mommy!"
Damon, laughing: "You got mommy's genes"
Edison: "I got mommy's fart gene!"
Are you noticing the trend here?
Other frequent topics of conversation include firefighters, scuba divers, and construction equipment. While some children may have favorite animals, Edison's favorite large machine is definitely the excavator. He's also already planning his Halloween costume. And as a last conversation snippet, Edison's feelings about Halloween:
Edison: "It's almost Halloween"
Mommy: "Yep"
Edison: "What's Halloween?"
Mommy: "Well, you get to dress up in a costume, then you walk around and grown-ups give you candy."
Edison: "THAT sounds gooooood!!!"
